Description
This is the “BLS Provider” course from the American Heart Association (AHA) for students, laypersons, and healthcare professionals who want to learn how to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and use an automated external defibrillator (AED) in an out-of-hospital setting.
The 4-hour course trains participants to promptly recognize several life-threatening emergencies, give high-quality chest compressions, deliver appropriate ventilations, and provide early use of an AED per the latest 2020 AHA Guidelines for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Emergency Cardiovascular Care.
In the classroom, students will participate in simulated hands-on clinical scenarios and learning stations. Students will also complete a final written exam and hands-on practical exam to demonstrate their knowledge.
AHA BLS Provider CPR certifications are the most common CPR certifications required by employers.
Certification cards are valid for two years.
